The extensive use of Internet or the World Wide Web, as it is other wise called, has changed the way we live and spend time qualitatively. The entire world or the knowledge can be brought to your study room through the means of Internet. That is the power of Internet. Medical technology in general, and first aid training, in particular has also exploited the power of the Internet, and first aid training course including the CPR is offered to the curious learner through the means of online training.

While there are innumerable benefits of online CPR training, it also has some disadvantages.

The first important benefit, among other things, is that online CPR training offers an opportunity to learn from the leisure and comfort of your home, if there are no other viable options available to get personal CPR training. In that way, it is worth a try in that you can get some knowledge about the importance of CPR and how it should be carried out.

You can view innumerable videos explaining the important aspects in a very concise and clear manner. You can review and brush the concepts whenever you wish to do so by saving the file in your computer’s hard disc.

You will also get to know about the latest developments in the field of CPR and the innovative techniques in administering the same.

These are some of the salient features or advantages of online CPR training.

Now, coming to the
disadvantages, by learning CPR online through the means of Internet, you are deprived of any practical knowledge or hands-on experience on how you should act in the case of emergency when a live patient wants CPR treatment. All the theory, the videos and the examples will not come to your rescue when you were called upon to administer first aid. This is the hard fact about online CPR training or for that matter any such online courses.

A lively interaction with the instructor will be totally missed in online CPR courses. You can chat or ask questions online as well. But more than the answer, the tone, and the stress given by instructor in teaching the course offline will not be there and you will lack that professional guidance in online CPR training.

While I am not against online CPR training, my sincere advice to persons taking up online CPR courses would be to update your knowledge with an instructor and try to get some practical training experience using dummies.

If interested in being of help to your fellow members, allocate some of your time and little amount to learn this invaluable skill. Emergency first aid training course or simply first aid training course is provided periodically by Red Cross Society, voluntary health organization and hospitals.
