Text messaging has become huge over the past 10 years. Instead of calling someone up, and talking with awkward silence, why not send a little text such as, “When are you going to be here?”, or “Just wanted to say Hi!” The list goes on, and since America is using it like it’s a drug, they are soon finding out that it’s costing some people a fortune.

So, what happens if you want to start saving money today, and you don’t want to spend $20 - $30 a month just to send a stupid little text? There are so many things that you can do, in order to get it going. In fact, I will even show you some tips, and tricks that you can use in order to get your texting even for free.

What you’re going to first want to do is look at your phone. Do you have an advanced blackberry, Android based phone? Do you have something that can handle applications? If you don’t, that’s okay, but if you do, you’re already ahead of the game. What you’re going to find out is that the application store is just filled with apps that are built for everyone. You’re going to notice that if you look on the market, you can get some applications that allow you to text back, and forth to other people. This is a great way to save money just by using your phone, and texting the same people.

What you’re going to soon find out is that you text the same people over, and over. If you get those people to get the same application as you, you’ll be able to get them to save money as well. It’s the same with your phone. Unless you’re a business, you really don’t have call the same people over, and over.

After you look at the apps, and whether you find one, or not, did you know that you can actually use free text messaging services online? You can find that there are places online that will allow you to text for free. What you’re going to need is the number that you’re texting, as well as the carrier that they are working with. What you’re going to find out is that since you need the carrier, it’s because the text message needs to know where to head, since you can’t just send a message to a number. The carrier helps the “gateway” know where to go.

Text messaging plans can cost anywhere from $5 to as much as $30, or so. Sit back, and find either an application, or even a service online that can save you money. Even if you save $5 each month, you’re going to find that you can easily save $60 each year. It doesn’t sound like a lot each month, but it really does add up, if you try hard. There’s always a way to save for everything, so get out there, and find something that can help you save a lot of money today!
